Locked-Down Host Website Migration Guide

The hardest migrations happen when the source host blocks normal access: no SSH, no database export, no plugin upload, no writable filesystem, or no direct route between servers. Migration Monkey marks these as locked-down host jobs so support can pick a recovery path quickly.

Fallback order

• Try admin/plugin capture when the app allows it.
• Try SFTP-only file capture when shell access is blocked.
• Use host backup exports when database access is unavailable.
• Move the job to assisted migration review when automated capture cannot prove completeness.

What users should expect

Locked-down hosts can still be moved, but the job may need more credits, more warnings, and manual cleanup. The migration log should call out exactly which data surfaces were captured and which need owner/operator attention.
